Regardless of the state of the economy, companies need competent and skilled employees. One of the most effective ways to develop a skilled workforce is to develop people skills and capacity from within the organization. Coaching skills are a strategic and cost effective way to influence and increase learning and capacity development. This program provides leaders with the skills and knowledge they will benefit from adding to their leadership inventory. One of the best power skills a manager can have is coaching. The ability to effectively communicate with others is a necessary expectation before one will be able to coach. The purpose of Coaching 101 for Managers is to provide managers with a path and framework for adapting coaching to their leadership approach, both formally and informally. Dr. Bill Howatt is a member of the International Coaching Federation, Human Resources Association of Nova Scotia, and American Psychological Association, and a graduate of Corporate Coach University who also completed a post doctorate in Behavioral Science at UCLA School of Medicine.
